Data sources policy

Last updated 28 Aug 2026

Every field on a published company profile carries a source and a date. This page lists the kinds of source we rely on.

Sources we use

  • Company registration — the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) and registry search tools, for registered name, registration number and status.
  • Google Business Profile — for public rating, review count, address, and opening hours, always with the date we checked.
  • The company’s own website and official social accounts — for services, service areas, portfolio and contact details.
  • Licences and certificates — from the issuing body where it can be verified.

Freshness

Rating and review figures are rechecked within 90 days. Other fields are reviewed when a correction is received or during a scheduled re-review. The “Last reviewed” date on a profile is the honest date of the last full check.

Corrections

If a source is wrong or out of date, tell the editorial desk with a link to the correct information.

How the pieces fit

The two signals stay separate
Best rated is a public Google-review signal with a check date. It is not our judgement.
Company level and the Local Elite seal come from our six-criteria assessment and a named editor. They are never for sale.
The two are shown side by side and never averaged into one number.

Something to raise?

Corrections of fact, seal misuse, and questions about a level all go to the editorial desk.
